Slender, tuberous geophyte, up to 200 mm tall. Leaves cauline, ovate- lanceolate. Flowers few in a lax raceme, 25 × 15 mm, pale green, lip with 2 broad lobes, appendage erect and rather stout.
plant 4–6 in. high; stem somewhat flexuous, slender; leaves 3–4, suberect or somewhat spreading, lanceolate-oblong, sheathing at the base, the lower 2 1/4 in. long, 3/4 in. broad, upper much smaller and narrower; scapes 4–6 in. high, 2–4-flowered; bracts lanceolate, acute, as long as the pedicels; flowers medium-sized, sulphur-yellow; dorsal sepal oblong-lanceolate, acute, concave, 4–4 1/2 lin. long; lateral sepals spreading, obliquely ovate-lanceolate, acute, very concave, 4–4 1/2 lin. long; petals cohering with the dorsal sepal into a somewhat expanded limb, obliquely and broadly obovate, obtuse, concave, 4–4 1/2 lin. long, rather broader than long; lip deflexed, bilobed, 2 1/2 lin. long, with oblong or subquadrate minutely denticulate lobes; appendage erect, fleshy, nearly oblong, conspicuously tridentate at the apex, 2–2 1/2 lin. long.
